Some links on this site – mainly on the buy-once list – are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, Porch Prophet may earn a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way.
Affiliate relationships are disclosed in the footer of every page and again at the top of any page containing affiliate links, so you never have to go looking for it.
What commission does not do
Commission has no influence on what appears in this publication. Specifically:
- Nothing is added to the buy-once list because it pays a commission. Items are chosen first, and a link is added afterwards only if one happens to exist.
- Items with no affiliate programme at all appear on the list, and always will.
- No brand has ever paid, or will be permitted to pay, for a place on the list or for favourable wording.
Sponsored content
There is none. Porch Prophet does not publish sponsored posts, paid placements, or advertorials, and does not accept free products in exchange for coverage. If that policy ever changes, the change will be stated on this page and on any affected article.
How the publication is funded
- Paid guides. The guides are the main way this publication supports itself.
- Affiliate commission on gear that was already going to be recommended.
The essays are free and will stay free. There is no paywall, no membership tier, and no advertising.
Testing standards
Nothing reaches the buy-once list without at least six months of ordinary use. Where something has been tested for less time than usual, that is stated on the item itself.
Corrections
Mistakes get corrected in place, with a note at the foot of the article saying what changed and when. If you spot one, send it through – corrections are read before pitches.
